How to play

Jhandi Munda (झण्डी मुण्डा), also called Langur Burja, is played across Nepal during Dashain and Tihar, and local rules vary from place to place. This is the common version, played with free play chips only, no real money.

The dice

There are 6 dice, and every die has the same 6 symbols, the same pictures as on the mat:

The dealer drops all six dice into a brass bucket, shakes it, slams it upside down on the mat and lifts it. Every face is equally likely.

Players and roles

Pick 2 to 10 players (you plus 1 to 9 bots) on the start screen.
Bet & roll: you bet like everyone else against the bank, and the bucket passes around the table, one dealer per round. On your turn you tap to shake, tap to slam the bucket down and tap to lift it.
Just roll (bank): you don't bet. You are the bank and roll every round: you collect every losing bet and pay every winner from your own chips. If the bank can't cover a round, winners are paid the same share of what they are owed.

Betting

Pick a chip (10, 50, 100 or 500) and tap a symbol box to bet on it. Tap again to add more. You can bet on as many symbols as you like, up to 5,000 per box.
Clear takes back your bets, Repeat places last round's bets again, and Roll closes betting. You have 20 seconds; then betting closes anyway.

Payouts

For each symbol you bet on, count how many of the 6 dice show it.
0 or 1 dice: you lose that bet.
2 to 6 dice: you win. The bet pays N to 1, where N is the number of dice showing your symbol, and you also get your bet back.
Example: 100 on Flag and three Flags land. You win 300 and get your 100 back: 400 in all. If only one Flag lands, the 100 is lost.
Each symbol is settled on its own, so one roll can win some of your bets and lose others.

The other players

Careful bets small, on one or two symbols. Bold spreads bigger bets. Flag fan is superstitious and backs the Flag every single round. A bot that runs out of chips leaves and a new one sits down.

Play chips have no cash value and cannot be bought or cashed out. If you run out, you get a free refill.
